Welcome to the Oxford Labour Club, the largest and oldest university Labour club in the country. Since 1919, we have been the home of the Labour movement in Oxford, hosting prominent speakers, running spirited socials, and organising campaign days.
It is an absolute honour to be serving as your Co-Chairs this term. We have a great range of events throughout this term that we’re really excited to share with you. Our flagship event Beer & Bickering will be running every Saturday as usual, bringing together Oxford’s finest minds for the City’s best debate-style social, as well as regular drinking and non-drinking social events every single week. As always, we have a great line-up of speakers this term that we’re looking forward to welcoming. On top of this, we’ll be hosting a bi-weekly Women*s B&B to give as many people as possible the opportunity to have their voice heard at our Club.
Of course, we can’t forget about our campaigning programme. We will be on the doors every Sunday, canvassing in and around Oxford. If you’re new to the canvassing game, then don’t worry! Our experienced committee members will gladly show you the ropes. We’ll also be running leafletting and phonebanking sessions if door-knocking’s not quite your style.
So, if you’re keen to get involved, whether that be trying your hand at canvassing, or meeting new people at Beer & Bickering, we’re excited to welcome you to the Oxford Labour Club this Michaelmas.
This term promises to be absolutely packed full of fantastic experiences and keen new faces. We are both so excited to have the privilege of running the Club this Michaelmas.
